Reglazed tile shower stall with bright white walls in Culver City
Why Culver City Calls Us

A Shower That Cleans Like New, Without a Remodel

Showers fail at the surface long before they fail structurally. Grout turns dark, caulk lines grow mildew, the pan gets rough and porous, and no amount of scrubbing brings it back. Culver City's older bathrooms in Washington Culver and Studio Village often have small tile showers that are expensive to replace because of the demolition and waterproofing involved.

Shower reglazing cleans, repairs and seals the pan and walls under a continuous coating. Water beads off, mildew has nothing to grip, and the stall looks freshly installed. We also reglaze fiberglass and acrylic shower units; see our fiberglass enclosure page for one-piece tub-shower combos.

  • Tile, fiberglass, acrylic and cultured-marble showers
  • Shower pans, walls, benches and niches
  • Cracked or rough pans repaired and sealed
  • Grout lines sealed so they stop staining
  • Optional non-slip floor texture
  • Color change for dated tile
What's Included

Our Shower Reglazing Process

A shower has more corners, joints and standing water than any other surface in the house, so prep is everything.

  1. Deep clean and de-mildew. Walls, pan and grout are treated to kill mildew and strip soap scum and silicone.
  2. Repairs. Missing grout is replaced, chipped tile and cracked pans are filled, and old caulk is cut out.
  3. Etch and bond. Tile glaze and fiberglass gelcoat are etched and primed so the coating bonds permanently.
  4. Spray. Multiple coats of urethane are sprayed across pan and walls as one continuous film.
  5. Caulk and cure. Fresh mildew-resistant caulk at all joints; the shower is ready in 24 hours.

Because the new surface is non-porous, routine cleaning is a soft sponge and a non-abrasive cleaner. No more grout brushes or bleach.

2-Year Written Warranty

This service is covered by our 2-year written warranty against peeling, bubbling and adhesion failure. Kitchen sinks are the one exception: they carry a 6-month warranty because of the heavy daily use they take. Full terms are on our Terms of Service page.

Shower Reglazing FAQs

What parts of a shower can be reglazed?

The shower pan or base, tiled or fiberglass walls, built-in benches and niches, and the tub portion of a tub-shower combo. We can coat the whole stall as one continuous surface or just the pan.

Does reglazing stop leaks in a shower pan?

Reglazing seals hairline cracks and porous grout at the surface, which stops the slow water absorption that causes mildew and staining. It is not a fix for a failed pan liner or active plumbing leak; we will tell you honestly if we see signs of one.

Can you make the shower floor non-slip?

Yes. We offer a textured, non-slip finish for shower pans and tub bottoms. It is a popular request for seniors and for rental properties.

How long does shower reglazing take?

A full tile shower stall usually takes one day on site. The shower can be used 24 hours after we finish. Standalone pans take 3–4 hours.

Do I need to re-grout before reglazing?

No. Grout lines are cleaned, repaired where missing and sealed under the new coating. You end up with a smooth surface where grout no longer needs scrubbing or sealing.

Is a permit required to reglaze a shower in Culver City?

No. Reglazing is a surface restoration with no plumbing, structural or electrical work, so it does not require a building permit. A replacement shower normally does.
